Most people don't think that you can camp in the winter without a large setup. on the contrary, with my scout troop, we go camping in as cold as -35 degrees Celsius.

We make a variety of Shelters to keep us warm throughout the nights. The most basic and effective of the shelters is the lean Tue.

A lean Tue is a shelter made by tying a cross bar on two trees, about belly button height, and running ribs length wise like a half roof. then all that's left is to throw a tarp over top and make a reflector wall and bobs you're uncle you have a shelter.

My Scout leader laying on his fancy setup.

My buddy Eric's setup, with my other scout leader caught in the cross hares.

This was my setup that weekend, it was a quick setup and all i did was i took a long pole, stuck it to a tree at the desired angle, made ribs, slung tarps on it then made a fire wall and went to bed, it was alright for a quick job that did the trick.
