Gearing up for Winter

With winter just around the corner this means it's time to whip out the snow machine and snowshoes to get ready for the upcoming season of fishing and trail riding. These are all things i enjoy to do at my camp in Westree. Abundant with lakes full of fish and forests full of animals this wonderland turns into a mans playground in the winter. In the summer and fall, we do lots of four wheeling, hunting, boating and fishing but it's relatively slow and tough to do compared to the winter. The lakes freeze over making travel much faster and "as the crow flies" if you will. All the bumpy trails are no longer bumpy and you can travel much faster. Despite the -40 degrees weather, we make the most of the lovely time catching lots of fish and burning lots of gas.

There is no feeling like waking up in a semi-toasty camp because the fire went out sometime throughout the night, eating breakfast and taking off to the lakes. It is so convenient to have the snow that you can hit four lakes in one day with your limit of every fish in the area.
